The Origins: A Practice Rooted in the Mountains
The Himalayas have been a cradle of spiritual evolution for over 5,000 years. In these majestic mountains, ancient yogis discovered, practiced, and preserved profound wisdom that continues to influence practitioners today. The natural isolation and powerful energy of the mountain environment created perfect conditions for deep meditation and self-discovery. These early masters developed practices specifically designed to harmonise human consciousness with universal energies, achieving a state of perfect balance between body, mind and spirit.
1. Pranayama: Breath control practices to regulate the flow of prana and wake the body.
2. Dhyana: Deep meditation to transcend the ego and achieve unity with universal consciousness.
3. Hatha Yoga: Balancing the sun (Ha) and moon (Tha) energies within the body, representing masculine and feminine forces.
4. Karma Yoga: Performing selfless acts, without letting the ego come into play. There is no hidden agenda and no looking for approval.
5. Jnana Yoga: The pursuit of knowledge/wisdom and self-realisation through self study.
6. Bhakti Yoga: A path to devotion by channeling and transmiting our emotional nature into a higher purpose. This can be done through chanting, worship and rituals.
Traditional Yogi Practises
The original Yogi's would rise before dawn to perform Pranayama and Dhyana. When the sun would began to rise the yogi's would quietly group together to perform a series of long held postures (Asana's) known as Hatha Yoga. Continuing their day with selfless acts, putting their wisdom to practise and devotion to the highest energy forces within and around them.
Prana meaning: Energy flow through the body
Hint: By saying Namaste with intention you are achieving Bhakti Yoga

The first form of physical yoga
HATHA YOGA
Hatha Yoga was the first ever form of physical yoga, it was the one that the Ancient Yogi's invented over 5,000 years ago. It invites practitioners to explore the balance of 2 different energies. . . the sun (Ha) and the moon (Tha), the masculine and the feminine, the active and the passive. The Balance of Life
At the heart of this tradition lies the belief that true harmony begins within, yogis cultivated balance—not just within their bodies, but in every aspect of life. Unlike the fast-paced modern yoga practices, Hatha Yoga encourages slow, deliberate movements holding poses for a little longer. Bringing balance to the mind and balance to the breath. This pace allows practitioners to tune inwards, connecting deeply with self and the universe.
Stress Relief
The focus on breath and slow movement soothes the nervous system and alleviates anxiety.
Trauma Healing
By grounding the practitioner and releasing stored tension, Hatha Yoga aids emotional recovery.
Self Love & Acceptence
Through mindful practice, we connect with our authentic selves, fostering compassion and love.
